One of the neatest things about walking into Robert Brunn's Scratchboard Art class at ArtShop is how quiet a room full of kids can be! Many people love scratchboard art because of the Zen-type calming effect it has on those who do it. At ArtShop, the kids are so intent on watching their images unfold that they are mesmerized and focused. Robert Brunn taught art and photography for the Coeur d'Alene School District for 35 years and he has been an ArtShop instructor for over 20 years. He is also a tennis coach and his personal hobbies include cycling, drums, art and photography. Robert says about his class, "Scratchboard art is a form of direct engraving. Students use a variety of tools to engrave a work of art. Each student will create a dramatic black and silver image that they can dazzle their friends and family with."
