Metal sculpture is more popular than ever, and we have several highly creative metal artists coming to Art on the Green this year, including Kelly Phipps of Hood River, Oregon. "I create metal art for home, garden and business, using a lot of recycled materials and steel. My artwork is very detailed and unique. I design everything by hand," says Phipps. For example, she rescues old shovels and gives them a good cleaning. She then creates a design and cuts them out with a plasma cutter, followed by more grinding. Part of each handle is then wrapped using suede, hemp string, bird feathers and glass beads. Each is one-of-a-kind. Plan to come and see Kelly Phipps and all of our other metal artists at Art on the Green at North Idaho College, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 5, 6 & 7, 2016 - the 48th annual Art on the Green!
