Poster Winner - 2017 Art on the Green
And the winning poster is... the Tree Frog design by Erin Bruns! Erin Bruns has loved doing artwork for as long as she can remember, winning her first blue ribbon at age 4. However, life as a microbiology instructor has left little time for artwork the past few years. Feeling a creative outlet missing from her life, she has been yearning to get back into her art. The Art on the Green poster competition was just the motivation she needed! Her Art on the Green tree frog watercolor was the first painting Erin has done in several years, and she plans to spend the summer of 2017 doing as much watercolor, pen and ink, oil, and acrylic artwork as possible! She is hoping to create original artwork that the people of Coeur d'Alene (and surrounding areas) will love, and to eventually springboard into a new career as an artist.
We appreciate all of our poster contest participants. The March meeting when the Citizens' Council for the Arts chooses the three finalists is considered a favorite meeting of the year because we love seeing all of the colorful, creative and unique poster ideas, and being in a room with all that great art gets us excited for the festival we work on all year long! Thank you participants and thanks to our patrons and community for choosing a winning design for 2017! 49th Annual Art on the Green at North Idaho College, August 4, 5 & 6, 2017
