RECYCLING
For starters, Art on the Green has a new recycling program this year! The festival recycling program is brought to you by Waste Management of Idaho, who generously donates the bins, containers, and transport free of charge, the North Idaho College Facilities Department, who oversees collection of recyclables, and the Citizens' Council for the Arts, the people who produce Art on the Green each year. Please look for easy-to-use recycling containers and helpful signs, and if you have any questions, please ask an Art on the Green volunteer. Recycling program contact: Elisa James (208)215-0400

UPCYCLED ART
Art on the Green is proud to feature artists who upcycle, including Tease Recyclewear from Portland, Oregon. "We upcycle knits like sweaters, t-shirts, polo shirts, etc. into shrugs, skirts, scarves, cowls, and other accessories. Each item we sell is hand-made and one-of-a-kind," says Kate Carder, Tease Recyclewear owner. Kelly Phipps of Hood River, Oregon repurposes garden shovels. "I rescue old shovels and give them a good cleaning. I create a design for them and cut them out with a plasma cutter and then more grinding. Part of each handle is then wrapped using suede, hemp string, bird feathers & glass beads. Each one is different." Cindy Draper of Post Falls, finds a unique way to upcycle old dishes, "I have taken old vintage dishes and incorporated them into my stained glass windows, giving new life to something old." We have other artists who salvage and upcycle metal items, use reclaimed wood, and repurpose old items in new works of art.

BICYCLE CORRAL
You can ride your bikes to Art on the Green and park them in our free bike corral, run by the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation volunteers. The bike corral is adjacent to the Student Union Building at the main festival entrance.

KOMBUCHA
NEW: We are pleased to offer locally-crafted kombucha in our Beer & Wine Garden this year. Crafted by Bare Kombucha of Coeur d'Alene, kombucha is a lightly effervescent sweetened black or green tea drink enjoyed equally for its great taste and health benefits.

ORGANIC, GLUTEN-FREE & OTHER HEALTH CONSCIOUS FOOD OPTIONS
Art on the Green has a Healthy Snack Shack where healthier food fare is available, including fresh fruit, green salads, quinoa bowls, protein and energy bars, cold tea drinks, organic, vegan, and gluten-free options, and more.

Family Friendly @ Art on the Green

We are proud that Art on the Green is such a family friendly event! Free entertainment is provided on two stages all weekend, including music, theatre, entertainers, and youth performances. Kids can enjoy the hands-on art area where modeling clay and easel painting are provided free-of-charge. Grilled chicken, fresh corn on the cob, and ice cream are some favorite food items available at the festival. Art on the Green is stroller-friendly, or you can ride your bikes to the festival and park them in our free bike corral (run by the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation). Also look for face painting, Pinot's Palette painting classes (where kids go home with a completed painting), and hand-made stuffed animals, all at family-friendly prices. Bring the whole family to Art on the Green at North Idaho College, August 4, 5, 6, 2017!
